Brouwerij Van Steenberge – Piraat Triple Hop IPA – 10.5%
From The Brouwerij Van Steenberge comes Piraat Triple Hop IPA at 10.5%. An great aroma of belgian noble grassy hops, a twang of malty caramel, and a strange hop aroma that I can’t place, a bit meaty? metallic? I’m not entirely sure that I like it. Appearance is copper with excellent head generation and retention. A Full bodied mouthfeel with a compact carbonation that prickles the tongue. Almost no sediment in the bottle. There is a sweet malty aftertaste, a bit grassy and the alcohol is mostly hidden. Wow. The aftermath is belly warming and not a particularly memorable beer, but a good example of a macro beer belgian tripel.
