Goose Island – India Pale Ale – 5.9%
From the Goose Island Beer Company comes their IPA at 5.9%. De-capping gives a big generic citrus blast aroma. The pour gives a straw coloured ale with no head generation. Upon tasting, the watery body immediately lets it down, however the bitterness is pretty decent and reinforces the ale slightly. I can’t help feeling that the beer is a bit generic. Overall, the hop aroma saves the beer somewhat, but I can’t help but feel that someone has been a bit stingy with the malted barley. I hoped for a lot more with this beer, but i’d probably try it again at some point.
