Marble Brewery – Brew 900 – 9.0%
The Marble Brewery from Manchester presents a ‘Bottle conditioned beer produced to Belgian standards’ in the guise of Brew 900. This beer was virtually aroma-less on de-capping other than a slightly generic whiff of malt and grass hops. Surprisingly clear pour for the style, with a few flecks of yeast. Brilliant to see bottle conditioning. As expected, massive carbonation for the style and an amazingly creamy head with superb retention. The beer aftertaste has only a small hint of bittering. The spicy yeasty taste also features somewhat and adds to a full bodied ale. The alcohol is perfectly masked in the style. Overall a slightly sweet beer which is hardly bitter at all. Great attempt at the Belgian style.
