Marble – Manchester Bitter – 4.2%
Expectations, anticipation and realisation. The Marble Brewery from Manchester is a prolific modern brewery pushing the boundaries of what to expect in a beer. Many people who have tried a ‘British Bitter’ expect a dark, crystal malt heavy and slightly bitter ale with no or little carbonation. Thankfully, this is not that beer. Surprisingly light in appearance with a melon aromatic hint on decapping, the beer is moderately bittered as you would expect for the style, with light carbonation. A pleasant enough and a nice variation on the bitter style. (Rumoured to be an emulation of the ‘Boddingtons’ recipe from 2 decades ago) purchased from maisondubiere.com in Elsecar, Barnsley.
