From the Stone brewery in San Diego comes Stone Ruination Double India Pale Ale at 8.5%. De-capping gives a massive aromatic punch of citrus and grapefruit merged with a heady & resinous smell. Appearance is rather generic, boring and amber. Bitterness is pretty darn awesome! punchy, with a strong presence of sweet citrusy infusions followed by a lingering bitterness, literally like licking orange peel. aromatics are strong and remain defined throughout the beer journey. A sweet yet hop forward DIPA. Carbonation is low and compact with little to no head generation. Pretty much a flavour hop bomb. ABV creeps through to add a bit of warmth after about half way of drinking. A thorough and awesome IPA, although oddly, the original Stone IPA takes my fancy over this.
