The Beer Kitchen – Orange Peel – 6.0%
From the Wadworth Brewery comes The Beer Kitchen – Orange Peel at 6.0%. De-capping gives a slight citrus aroma, overtaken by a malt presence. The pour is good with a nice deep amber colour and good head retention. The taste is full bodied with a good mouthfeel and a slight pith aftertaste. A generic beer with not much malt presence or orange coming through. No discernable hop presence at all. As the brew develops and settles, an odd creaminess develops and towards the end it gets a bit sickly. Another example of odd additions spoiling the beer experience. I’d avoid this one if given a second chance.
