Wilde Child – Outside The Box – Mandarin IPA – 5.7%
From The Wilde Child Brewery comes Outside The Box, a Mandarin IPA at 5.7%. A Massive initial head generation appears on de-canning, initially an odd aroma of vinegar and maltiness, bizarre!. The beer settles and the head completely disappears and now the aroma is now orange and deep maltiness, with a little soap thrown in. The appearance is fairly light, yet the malty flavour and backbone is quite apparent. A full bodied beer having an average bitterness, yet smooth on the mouthfeel with a hint of pith. Very different, but somehow a bit sickly sweet for my liking. I’m pleased for the experience but I won’t be stocking the fridge up with these.
